Campaign Design Objectives

Due to the nature of my ADHD long running campaigns I can burn out on them. To ensure that the game can pause to deal with this issue I will focus on Story Arcs as mini campaigns. This was a design that I used earlier on in my progression as a DM and would stitch together scenarios to make campaigns. I will leverage this kind of design with the campaign in mind.

This also allows for ways to introduce new characters and allow for characters to drop as needed with schedule conflicts. With this design goal stories of personal plot will have to become modular allowing for them to drop and add in as the game goes along and as people come and go. This will also allow for players to change characters when they are feeling tired of the one they are playing.

To counter act the impact of personal plot towards the greater story as a whole, the design of the large arcing story will have to allow for that reflection. The sum of the many building to the whole. However, the players will have to have the ability to shape the world to ensure that the players feel like their characters adventures matter to the world at large.
